It makes you happier.

Your thoughts (2) LOL!

Why did the chicken cross the road? It was going to a service delivery protest. Laughing out loud is good for you. The joke can come from Trevor Noah or Tumi Morake, or a knock-knock joke. When we laugh, our bodies release endorphins. They’re hormones that makes us feel good naturally. Endorphins relieve stress. Less stress = more peace.

Here’s where you can find laugh out loud moments.

  1. Is there something that you are awkward at, like how you fall when you walk fast? When something funny happens to you, laugh at yourself. Some of the things we consider weird or strange about ourselves are things we can’t change. Laughing at yourself shows that you accept and love yourself just as you are. Self-love equals a more confident and happier you.
  2. Life has many strange and beautiful moments. They create laughter and comedy. It’s on TV shows and online, or in private moments like forgetting what you went to the shop for.
  3. Ever heard of the saying that “laughter is the best medicine”? Laughing boosts our immune system. It’s the body’s way of fighting off illness (not that you must laugh it off when you feel ill). Every time you share a funny moment with your family, you exercise your heart muscles. This ensures that your heart stays strong and healthy. Think of laughter as your heart’s personal trainer.
  4. Last, but not least, because laughing is infectious, the more you laugh with others, the more you share good vibes, building stronger relationships.

Now that we think about it, laughing is actually a serious matter. So LOL a lot. It’s nature’s feel good medicine.
