How you start your day matters. Try starting your day positively by saying, “I am beautiful” or “I am strong” or “I am capable”. By saying these words every day you will feel more confident. Remember, it only works if you do it every day.

Affirmations are great because they invite positivity and they keep that voice inside you, that makes you doubt yourself, quiet. Affirmations make you happy and keep your heart healthy!

Focus on what you can do:

It’s easy to feel discouraged when you see other people doing great and achieving their goals. This year, focus on your skills. Discover your talents by making a list of the things that you can do. Look for the things that make you happy when you are doing them, whether it is writing, singing or playing a certain sport.

Practice often and don’t be discouraged when you don’t get things right the first time you do them. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes because they are part of the learning process

Learn more about your talent by reading books or movies or videos.

The pressure to be perfect can make doing what you love hard. Wanting to be the best is good, but it can be a bad thing when it holds you back. Let go of people who hurt you. In 2018 focus on healthy relationships that make you feel good and bring you happiness. Surround yourself with people who love you and you can trust.

Listening: Instead of trying to prove that you know more. If a friend comes to you with a problem and wants to talk about it, listen to her and put yourself in her shoes before you respond.

Being honest: Don’t be afraid to be honest with your friends and speak out when you feel like you are being disrespected or taken advantage of.
