Getting a job is part of growing up. But how do you start? What should you do? You have to apply for jobs that are advertised but you must also hunt for opportunity.
Get your paper ready
This is where dropping your CV off comes in. Your CV should talk about who you are, what you have done and what you want to do. It must have important information like your name and contact details. It must also have your education background and work experience. Experience is anything that shows that you understand the value of hard work.
Look the part
First impressions last. Always. Wear clean clothes that you feel comfortable in. They must not be too short, tight or revealing.
Say it like you mean it
Now that you have your CV and outfit, the next step is dropping the CV off where you want to work. Call ahead to find out who you need to give the CV to. That person may want to have a chat or may invite you back for an interview. Learn as much as you can about that place and the job you want. Ask your parents, siblings or friends to give you a fake interview. They’ll probably ask you why you want that job, what makes you the best person for it, and what value you believe you will add to the organisation, so be prepared!
